Created by an engineer from Nova Scotia, this washing machine filter works as a solution to water pollution and saves you from blocked plumbing and distribution lines.

 

Sewage pump failure from lint is a common but largely unrecognized problem. Our washing machines break down clothing fibres and pump them into septic systems. Septic tanks get filled with non-biodegradable lint fibre, which can cause septic system failure (a very complex and expensive issue!). 

 

Synthetic fibres are also a major source of microplastic contamination. Tiny plastic particles enter the marine environment, get ingested by marine organisms, threatening the ecosystem's health. Microplastics have become so prevalent in the environment that they are being found in food, drinking water and our bodies.

The Gerrys, father & son, are toymakers from Waterloo, Ontario. They have been creating wonderful wood based kid toys for over 30 years.

Thanks to Upper Canada Fibre Shed, a non-profit that values sustainable agriculture and local textile manufacturing, we’ve connected with the Schill Family, the 4th and 5th generations to farm on their land. 

 

Our natural wool pillows come from their Wellington County farm, where they ethically raise sheep and lamb. The Shills support sustainable resources and land use. They believe that soil is the main pillar of their farm, so they are committed to nourishing and taking care of the quality of the soil, the health of our animals and the environment. 

 

Not only is this pillow reasonably priced, but it is also handmade from raw wool that is grown and processed in Ontario.
