My story: From about age 21, I noticed that only my facial hair turned a vibrant shade of red when I let it grow out for about a week (my normal hair colour is black and zero family history of red heads:) By my late twenties, my hair line had started to recede, which at the time, I had attributed to regular use of hair gel/mousse since high school days. (The things we do to impress the ladies ... but I digress)
Whether or not, shaving cream, shampoo, skin creme and/or hair gel directly resulted in my physical transformation, I became very conscious of the many different chemicals we expose ourselves to on a daily basis. Ask yourself - how many long term studies have been done measuring these effects? Scientific studies can only look to isolate and prove that a single variable caused these effects such as Bisphenol-A. So how can we measure this impact of a single variable when we live in homes with closed air circulation and constantly re-introducing chemicals and off-gassing VOCs in the form of stains, glues from carpet and paints and cleaning products on a weekly basis?
Even if there was evidence, we'd be innundated with disinformation - eg., how many of you have heard the effects of teflon at high temperatures and the efforts by major chemical companies to cover it up? Or that man made chemicals have been discovered in umbilical cords and in Canadian indigenious people who live purely off the land [see Toxic Nation Study by Environmental Defense]. True or false, the stats show that number of incidences of cancer, asthma, allergies are all on the increase.
If you're reading this, you've already reached the same conclusion - Common sense dictates that we question, read the labels and make informed decisions. Organic Lifestyle was born from this desire to provide safer, affordable alternatives for my family, friends and consumers such as yourself.
We believe organic represents quality over quantity, as it uses more considered production techniques and avoids the use of artificial fertilisers, pesticides and toxic dyes. This is particularly relevant when you consider cotton is usually a heavily sprayed crop.
We directly source from organizations that work with farmers to International certifying authorities to validate that the products are certified to the highest organic standards. We don't stop there - We look for environmentally friendly manufacturing procedures such as Oeko-tex and ensure the use of low impact dyes.
