About Organic Lifestyle

Organic Lifestyle was born from my desire to provide safer, better product offerings to family, friends and consumers just like you.

"I’m starting with the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways
If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change"
- Michael Jackson, "Man in the Mirror"

Owner's story: In my early twenties, I noticed that my facial hair turned a vibrant shade of red when I let it grow out. This concerned me as my hair colour is - and has always been - black, as is the case with my entire family.

Whether or not shaving cream or moisturizer directly resulted in my physical transformation, this incident caused me to become very conscious of the various chemicals we expose ourselves to on a daily basis. Very few of which have been studied for their long-term effects.

Far too much information is conveniently withheld from us, the public. For example: how many of you know about the findings regarding the effects of heated Teflon (and the subsequent efforts made by major chemical companies to cover them up!)? Or that harmful man-made chemicals have been discovered in umbilical cords and indigenous people who live purely off the land [see Toxic Nation Study by Environmental Defense]. There's no denying that incidences of cancer, asthma and allergies are on the rise. And that chemicals found in countless products sold on store shelves have been linked to those ailments.
If you're reading this, you've already reached a similar conclusion: that we need to know more about what we're putting in our bodies and homes, and make more informed buying decisions. Because unfortunately, the status quo isn't always acceptable.

Our mission is to help equip you and your family with better, safer products . Avoid the hours of overwhelm and frustration; buy from us and rest assured you're getting the best options on the market.

1. We believe in quality over quantity! Less stuff, but better stuff. This often means buying organic, which employs more sustainable production techniques and doesn't require the use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides and toxic dyes. This is particularly true when it comes to conventional cotton, as it's one of the most heavily sprayed crops out there.
2. We source directly from organizations that work with farmers and international certifying authorities to ensure that the highest organic standards are met. And from manufacturers whose practices are highly sustainable and who use low impact dyes (such as Oeko-tex).
3. We do the research so you don't have to, to offer you:
  • Less harmful chemical exposure
  • Softer and longer-lasting products

4. We are committed to:
  • Fair trade and fair prices

  • Ethical sourcing (of materials and products)

  • Supporting local producers and local communities

  • Standing up against harmful pesticides

5. We believe in a social entrepreneur business model; one that supports local and global communities in a socially responsible manner. Our goal is to educate the community and propel consumers to increase demand for products that are better for the health of our bodies and our environment. The greater the demand, the greater the likelihood that healthier, higher quality items will be more affordable in the long run.
Thank you for your support and for using your buying power to change the world, one purchase at a time.
