Bamboo Towel Care Instructions and FAQs
Machine wash your towels separately in warm water on the gentle cycle using mild detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners as they are not needed or recommended. Tumble dry on medium heat. To prevent your towels from snagging, we recommend that you wash your towels in plain hot water immediately after purchase. This wash will tighten the weave structure of your towels and substantially diminish snagging. However, should you snag a towel, you can simply cut it off with scissors. Your towels will not run or snag.
The beautiful color of your towels is stable and colorfast. However, some chemical agents such as chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, some toothpastes and teeth whiteners, and benzoyl peroxide will cause your towels to discolor or fade. Care should be taken to keep your towels away from these substances.
Bamboo is naturally tough and durable and none of our manufacturing processes use the harsh chemicals that can weaken cotton, so our Bamboo Towels are amazingly strong and durable. With proper care, your towels will stand the test of time and still look and feel wonderful.
FAQs
Q: How should I care for my towels?
A: We encourage you to wash your towels separately in warm water, using a mild, environmentally friendly detergent. These detergents are available in the cleaning products section of most grocery stores. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.
Q: The colors are so beautiful. Will they fade? Are they colorfast?
A: While our products and dyes are stable, they are not fast against some chemicals. Bleaching agents such as hydrogen peroxide, benzoyl peroxide, teeth whiteners, some tooth pastes and chlorine bleach may cause your towels to fade or discolor.
Q: Will my towels stain?
A: Most stains and oils are easily lifted out of your towels in the wash using mild detergent. Pre-wash treatments are not necessary. However, there are some substances that contain natural dyes such as Tabasco sauce, and some concentrated berry juices such as cranberry or pomegranate that will permanently dye your towels.
Q: What should I do if my towels snag?
A: We recommend that you wash your towels in hot water immediately after purchase. This wash will tighten the weave structure of your towels and substantially diminish snagging. However, should you snag a towel, you can simply cut it off with scissors. Your towel will not run or unravel.
Q: I noticed that some of the towels are softer than others. Why?
A: Almond Pearl is the natural color of our Bamboo fiber. All of our towels are dyed after they are woven, so while every towel we make is soft; some of the dyes leave them softer than others. We recommend that you wash your towels in plain hot water immediately after purchase to make them even softer. Again, none of our dyes are harmful.
Q: These towels are so soft, how can they possibly dry me off? I don't like towels that just smear the water around.
A: It is an inherent characteristic of the bamboo to wick water away from your skin much faster than ordinary cotton.
Q: I really dislike the way towels mildew and smell when they don't dry. Will my towels smell?
A: Our Towels dry faster than ordinary cotton towels and they will not support mold or mildew, so they won't smell.
Q: I never thought a "green" product could be this luxurious. They feel wonderful, but will they wear out quickly?
A: Bamboo is naturally tough and durable and none of our manufacturing processes use the harsh chemicals that can weaken cotton, so our Bamboo fiber is amazingly strong and durable. With proper care, your towels will stand the test of time and still look and feel wonderful.
